How we got here
BeeCal Honey is built on a lifelong connection to bees and a commitment to doing things differently. Owner Henry Balding developed an early interest in honeybees that led to the founding of Balding’s Bees, where he began working hands-on with live colonies. After spending years in the pest control industry, Henry saw firsthand how often bee issues were handled through elimination rather than preservation. That experience led to the creation of BeeCal Pest Management, built around environmentally ethical pest management practices and a focus on live bee removal and relocation whenever possible. BeeCal Honey is a natural extension of that work—taking rescued colonies, rehabilitating them, and putting them back into productive roles in agriculture and managed apiaries. Every jar reflects that full process, from Balding’s Bees to BeeCal, and a continued commitment to responsible, sustainable solutions.
